Ascent® glass interior glass railing windshield-reaching new heights Since its introduction to the market, Trex Commercial's Ascent glass windshield system has attracted the attention of the commercial building sector with its innovative design and industry-leading performance. The system is ideal for roofs, balconies, etc., and can enhance any outdoor environment—from hotels and high-rise applications to healthcare and education environments—providing style and safety, as well as unparalleled wind and barrier-free vision.
Although most commercial windshield systems can handle a wind load of 10 psf, the Ascent design is eight times this value, and the qualified wind load is 80 psf. This increased wind load allows installation at higher heights, such as balconies and roofs. Ascent's standard height is 6 feet, which can provide a wide range of coverage for furniture and customers; however, the height of the product can be customized according to the needs of individual projects.
Adding to its appeal, Ascent has a snap-on aluminum column for quick, safe and easy assembly. Unlike traditional glass windshields that require the installer to lift a large glass panel and slide it in from the top of the column system, the Ascent glass panel is installed from the front. This approach significantly reduces installation time and helps keep the project on schedule and within budget.

MetallArt's spiral sculpture staircase is a stylish and eye-catching work of Hamburg's five-star superior hotel The Fontenay, which is a member of Leading Hotels of the World.
With 130 rooms equipped with the highest quality equipment, an infinity pool, a spacious spa area and a vast park, this top hotel promises to provide a very unique relaxing experience on an area of 14,000 square meters. In particular, the unique design of the hotel fascinates guests.
The three interconnected circles in the curved design define the floor plan of the building's highlights. There is a green terrace in the center of these circles, which incorporates the spirit of nature into the hotel’s facilities.
The impressive architectural concept of this building comes from the office of Störmer Murphy and Partners in Hamburg. In addition to a large number of custom-made furniture, the steel stringer stairs and MetallArt glass railings are fascinated by the circular design and imposing shape.
The 1,500 mm single-story steel beam staircase complements the hotel's comfortable interior design concept. The thickness of the high flat steel stringers on both sides of the sculptural staircase is 10-15 mm, which constitutes a modern-designed railing.
They are equipped with rectangular armrests made of chicken wing wood and connected at the top. Especially shaping the handrails in the ascending curve design is very challenging, but it is successfully implemented by the stairs experts with the highest precision and expertise.
The tread step structure is realized by a combined step of folding and box-shaped design. Due to the three-dimensional curved steel soffit cladding completed according to the structural requirements, the steel staircase has acquired its sculptural characteristics.
Due to the uniform circular and horizontal glass railings in the Fontenay Bar, guests can see the 27-meter-high atrium of a five-star hotel, which is both a lounge and an entertainment venue.
In addition to the stylish appearance of the steel stringer stairs, the interior glass railing are also a highlight. In order to minimize green castings, it is made of white glass.
For the handrails, a U-shaped cross-section of approximately 35 x 17 mm fine wire stainless steel is attached to the laminated safety glass panel and completed by gluing. The length of the pane itself, single pane safety glass and laminated safety glass is 2.000 mm and the thickness is 16 to 20 mm.
