Demers Glass is not a typical glass company. The owner, Pierre Demers, said that employees care about their work and customers.
"We have to fix a lot of work that other companies have already done," Demers said. "If this were what we did in the same way, we would now be sued."
Demers Glass has offices in Peoria, Lakeside and Flagstaff, providing custom engineered curtain and window walls, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights, residential doors and windows, glass replacement, retractable screen doors, Solar screens, security and other services/storm doors, window tinting, solar awnings, architectural glass, custom laminated glass, cast/slump glass, mirrors, shower doors, privacy glass, desktops, custom all-glass tables, all-glass entrances and armrest.
This family business was founded in 1977 as a small glass shop in Phoenix. Since then, it has been widely known among construction companies and general contractors for its talented employees.
"We live in New Hampshire, and my father took his family to Arizona because he was tired of working for others," Demers said.
"He wanted to do something on his own. He founded Demers Glass and our five children participated in it at the same time. Our three brothers bought our two sisters, and then we bought our father in 2003."
One aspect has been consistent from the early days: the staff thoroughly explained their intentions.
"Not everyone has our trading mentality," Demers said. "If there is a problem with the glass, we will try to repair it for the customer before a full replacement. They understand what they are getting. Once the work is done with Demers Glass, there will be no surprises."
