SEMA 2021: Lingenfelter announces TVS 2650 booster system for C8
his is only the first day of the SEMA show in 2021, and we are already looking for new glass fitting manufacturer that will cause a sensation. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) is a booth that attracted the attention of performance lovers and us. It is not uncommon for companies to have new and innovative products. Therefore, we patronize the booth year after year because they always have new things, from performance packages for cars and trucks to new electronics and accessories. This year is no exception, because the company has launched a unique package that will definitely attract the attention of C8 Corvette owners around the world.Immediately after Chevrolet released the Z06 last week, Lingenfelter just launched a new Stage-1 supercharger kit for the C8 Corvette. Although we have seen centrifugal superchargers and turbocharger kits on the market, this is the first Roots supercharger bolted to the LT2 and located at the rear of the C8. We It must be said that the device looks like a back glass at home underneath. Installing Magnuson TVS2650 on LT2 is a feat in itself, but it is only part of the equation.
According to Lingenfelter, the C8 system has a supercharger drive system using a factory belt line. The patent-pending device also retains the inventory belt location of the factory's dry oil pan oil injection assembly, partition connection and electrical location. The company also uses Magnuson high-efficiency air-to-water coolers to maintain optimal intake air temperature (IAT). In addition, a unique heat exchanger system is included in the package and utilizes air passing through the air intakes under and on the side of the car. The heat exchanger then cools the 1.5 gallon self-cleaning coolant storage tank, which is also included.
Since the launch of the C8, we have seen stores and performance aftermarket companies competing with original ECUs when trying to add forced induction to the platform. Although some people gained strong momentum by adding aftermarket ECUs and combining inventory C8, Lingenfelter went in a different direction and built a "system control module." The customized module has an advanced programmable flash memory circuit that can generate algorithms. The algorithm manages the manifold air pressure (MAP), mass airflow sensor (MAS), ignition timing, and throttle position used for boosting, all of which are coordinated with factory controls. In addition, the system control module allows the factory ECM to use the signal from the factory broadband to properly manage the air-fuel ratio. Lingenfelter and Magnuson spent more than a year developing this kit to seamlessly integrate with C8's factory system while maintaining inventory driving performance. Another important feature of this setting is that no additional programming or on-board controller is required.
In terms of performance, the Lingenfelter supercharger system provides outstanding performance. The Magnuson TVS 2650 can provide 705 horsepower on the LT2, an increase of only 6 pounds, and this is just the beginning. Lingenfelter has tested a phase 2 program with no problems, but is currently cautious about the durability of the engine and gearbox.
